Current projects

Current projects are focussed around bold and colourful renderings of trees in the landscape, contrasted with the calm reflective atmosphere of the Somerset Levels.

Stroke

Whilst recovering from a stroke that affected the left side of her body, Amanda made drawings to strengthen her hands, the left in particular.

Tree Bark

Textures and colours of natural found materials such as tree bark and stone. Predominantly working with graphite, charcoal or ink, these drawings delve into the textures and colours seen when in deep observation of her subjects.

Woodlands & walks

Here we have paintings that don’t fall into any of the more formal project focuses, but are all related by the fact they are produced in response to walks or time in nature.

Islands

Working in acrylic on canvas, many of these paintings are a response to the colours, light and textures of various islands visited by Amanda between 2018 - 2019, such as the Isles of Scilly and the Caribbean.
