Tree Bark

This project explores the textures and colours of natural found materials such as tree bark and stone. It began with a small series of semi-abstract drawings of tree bark that she’d been drawn to whilst walking. Predominantly working with graphite, charcoal or ink, these drawings delve into the textures and colours seen when in deep observation of her subjects. Amanda has worked on a few acrylic paintings along this theme, three of which were exhibited at the Grounded exhibition, part of Frome Open Art Trail 2021.
